Space Coast Derby Day to include golf tournament as part of annual fundraiser in May
February 23, 2021
Event proceeds to help Salvation Army, Crosswinds Youth Services, HART and Rockledge Rotary Foundation

Derby Day chairperson Donna Manfredi, Cecil the Horse and Rotarian Mark Wade get ready for this year's Rockledge Rotary Foundation Space Coast Derby Day, which is set for May 1.
For the first time, the Rockledge Rotary Foundation 2021 Space Coast Derby Day
will feature a golf tournament as part of the popular yearly fundraiser.
The themed event that coincides with the Kentucky Derby
will be on May 1, 2021. It will combine virtual and in-person participation with adherence to social-distancing requirements.
Beneficiaries include the Salvation Army in Brevard, Crosswinds Youth Services, Hidden Acres Rescue for Thoroughbreds (HART)
and the Rockledge Rotary Foundation. The Foundation raises funds and makes charitable donations in the community that align with the mission of the Rockledge Rotary Club.
The golf tournament begins at 12:30 p.m. at the Turtle Creek Golf Club. Teams and individuals can register for the best ball golf tournament here.
Following the tournament, the Space Coast Derby Day party will take place at the Twisted Birch. The party runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., featuring a live/silent auction and gourmet hors d’oeuvres. There will be a bourbon-tasting area, a live stream of the Kentucky Derby, a wheelbarrow cheer raffle, hat contest, charitable wagering, a 50/50 raffle and more.
“This event is always a good time and this year will be no exception,” said Donna Manfredi, Space Coast Derby Day 2021 chairperson. “We’ve had to make adjustments to last year’s events because of the pandemic lockdown, holding a strictly virtual Derby Day in 2020. This year, we’ll have both live and virtual attendees. As usual, it should be a lot of fun.”
